Adele opens up about divorce from Simon Konecki in candid interview
Adele said the relationship with Simon wasn’t appropriate for her any longer
The 33-year-old vocalist, who is the most recent cover star for the fashion magazine, split from her charity boss ex in 2019. Their divorce was finalised in March this year, and they share guardianship of nine-year-old child Angelo.
Adele let the publication know that she lost intimate closeness with Simon. ‘It just wasn’t… It just wasn’t right for me anymore,’ she said.
‘I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew. I wasn’t miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first.
‘But, yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that.’

She proceeded: ‘After going through a divorce, my requirements are sky-high. There’s a very big pair of shoes to fill.’
The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker added that one track on her forthcoming album is specifically about ‘stuff that happened‘ in terms of her relationship breakdown, and she said she wanted to incorporate it for her child.
‘I wanted to put it on the album to show Angelo what I expect him to treat his partner like, whether it be a woman or a man or whatever.’

Adele clarified that she and Simon have never battled about their child Angelo, however proceeded to say that their little one was left truly troubled after she ‘dismantle[d] his whole life in the pursuit of my own happiness.‘
Adele’s appearance both in the UK and US versions of Vogue magazine comes only one day after she declared that her comeback single Easy On Me will be released one week from now.
The pop star shared a short video on Twitter containing the initial bars of the piano-led track and affirmed it will arrive on Friday, October 15.
Speculations about Adele’s comeback has been overflowing as of late after she refreshed her social media accounts and her website on Monday.
Her Twitter and Instagram pages showed a blue and turquoise design with her memoir containing a link to her website, which encouraged fans to sign up for more info.
After fans recognized the adjustment of Adele’s social media presence, the hashtag #Adele30 started trending.
