Environmentalists have been criticizing Drake for what they claim was a 14-minute flight he allegedly took in his $200 million Air Drake private jet. Drake has responded to their criticism.
Reports on the brief flight his Boeing 767 made from Toronto to Hamilton, Ontario, were part of an exposé published by The Guardian last week (July 21), which also included the names of Mark Wahlberg, Kylie Jenner, Floyd Mayweather, and Kim Kardashian.
Drake Responds To Criticism Over His Private Jet Taking 14-Minute Flight
The 6 God responded to the controversy on Tuesday (July 26) by posting in the Real Toronto Newz’s Instagram comments that the plane was empty at the time and that the flight was only made so the plane could return to its home hangar for cleaning and routine maintenance.
For anybody interested in the logistics,
“This is just them transporting planes to whichever airport they are being stored at,” he added. No one flies that route.
Prior to his explanation of why the plane was in the air for such a brief period of time, environmentalists badgered Drake on social media for the entire week after The Guardian piece, which names Drake as the worst perpetrator for releasing CO2 emissions.
Drake contributes to the issue by taking several flights of 15 minutes each to Hamilton and back when the environment is deteriorating. Take the GO train, dude,” tweeted writer and director Jesse Hawken.
“Canadians will cry about climate change then pay thousands to go to the next Drake concert, behaving as he isn’t taking his private plane on flights from Hamilton to Toronto,” Temur Durrani, a technology reporter, tweeted.
Earlier in July, Drizzy filled up Air Drake for a trip to St. Tropez, where he had a little fun at Joe Budden’s expense and tried unsuccessfully to woo a woman by Airdropping her a picture of herself.
