Jason Alexander, Britney Spears' First Husband Arrested After Crashing Her Wedding

Britney Spears’ First Husband Jason Alexander Crashes Her Wedding, Arrested by Police

The wedding of Britney Spears to fiancé Sam Asghari was disrupted on Thursday by the pop star’s ex-husband, Jason Alexander, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sergeant Cyrus Zadeh, the Sheriff’s Office was sent to Spears’ home in Thousand Oaks, California, to investigate a trespassing complaint when they saw Alexander. Alexander was determined to have an out-of-county warrant and was placed under arrest for it after a records check. Deputies are currently on the scene investigating what happened, and will decide if Alexander will face additional charges in connection with the alleged trespassing.

The story of the trespassing was originally reported by TMZ. In 2004, Spears married Alexander, a childhood friend. They were married for 55 hours before the marriage was annulled.

The encounter with Alexander, however, had no effect on Spears and Asghari’s wedding plans. According to People, the private wedding on Thursday night drew roughly 60 people, including Madonna, Drew Barrymore, and Paris Hilton. Spears went down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” while dressed in a Versace gown. According to a statement from Federline’s lawyer, Spears’ boys with Kevin Federline, Sean and Jayden, were not in attendance but wished the new couple the best of luck.

Spears and Asghari got engaged in September, only a few months after Spears was released from a 13-year conservatorship struggle with her family. Their marriage comes only a few months after the singer confirmed in May that she had miscarried after earlier revealing her pregnancy in April. In May, Spears posted on Instagram, “Our love for each other is our strength.” “We’ll keep striving to grow our wonderful family.” We appreciate all of your help. During this trying time, we respectfully request your privacy.”

Spears and Asghari initially met on the shoot of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. In a 2017 radio interview, Spears stated she felt “‘this man was incredibly cute,’ so I contacted him,” adding that “he’s just a really kind guy.”

In a recent article in GQ, Asghari stated that the wedding date had been set, but he remained tight-lipped about any additional specifics. Asghari posted on Instagram shortly after Spears revealed her pregnancy, “Marriage and kids are a natural aspect of a great partnership filled with love and respect.”

This will be Spears’ third marriage. Federline was her second husband. Their divorce was finalized in 2007, and the aftermath involved a protracted custody fight over their two children.

“I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half,” Asghari said in February 2021 to People, “and will continue to assist her in chasing her aspirations and constructing the future she wants and deserves… I am grateful for all of her fans’ love and support from all around the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, wonderful future with her.”
