“She was just a friend” – Singer Omah Lay clears the air on loved-up video with alleged girlfriend
Omah Lay, a renowned stage name for Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, has clarified the circumstances surrounding a love video of him and his purported girlfriend that went viral online a few months ago.
The “understand” singer was seen making out with a woman in a video that made its way online a few months back. Many female admirers who had a crush on him thought the woman in the viral footage was his girlfriend, which ruined their expectations.
Many female followers at the time even went so far as to record themselves sobbing while claiming that the loved-up video had crushed their hearts.
He claimed that the woman was only an acquaintance when discussing the events around the video-reel months later.
He claims that he trusted the friend to make love-up movies of them together, but the next morning he discovered that she had posted the videos online, giving the impression that they were in a relationship.
Following that incident, according to Omah Lay, he unfollowed her and cut all contact with her, as he revealed in an interview with Pulse.
“That girl was my friend at the time. I trusted her. She produced tapes. By the time I knew one morning, videos of me and her were on social media and whatnot.”
