Newcastle’s clash with Tottenham paused due to medical emergency in crowd

Newcastle’s match with Spurs was suspended not long before half-time

There were stressing scenes at St James’ Park as Newcastle’s Premier League match with Tottenham was put on pause because of a health related crisis in the team.

Newcastle have since affirmed the individual has been taken to medical clinic and brought to a steady condition.

The occurence happened in the 40th moment and there was profound worry as players from the two sides cautioned ref Andre Marriner to an aggravation in the East Stand.

Spurs defender Eric Dier ran to the dugouts to look for help from clinical assistance and Newcastle’s club doctor, Paul Catterson, was seen hurrying across the pitch with a defibrillator to keep an eye on the fan.

Marriner talked with stewards and police uninvolved and the first half was suspended before long, while Spurs held a 2-1 lead with the goals from Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane‘s boot.

Clapping of hands repeated around the stadium as the supporter being referred to was carried away and taken to clinic.

‘The supporter who was in need of urgent medical assistance has been stabilised and is on their way to hospital,’ a post on Newcastle’s official Twitter account read.

‘Our thoughts are with them.’
